Smolder has a separate unit pool from Rammus & Kog'maw. Protector frontline is interchangeable with any other frontline vertical, such as 6 Juggernaut, 6 Bastion, 6 Heavyweight, etc. Smolder provides Burn and Wound with his ability making anti-heal items less important.

Stage-by-Stage Tips

Stage 2

Keep Smolder / Monster Trainer in for every fight you can to rack up EXP. Slam items and play for tempo.

Stage 3

Add more Bastion or frontline units as you level. If you are holding pairs of key units, you can roll some for upgrades.

Stage 4

Level to 7 and roll for 6 Bastion + Smolder 2. Slow roll for 3* on 7. Add in Strategist or any 5 cost as your duo carry on level 8.
